During World War II, the children of Pevensie, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, are evacuated from a suburb of London to the cottage of Professor Digory Kirke. Mrs. Macready, the strict housekeeper, explains that she is not used to receiving children.
While the Pevensies play hide and seek, Lucy discovers a closet and enters the fantasy world called Narnia. When seeing a lamp post, Lucy is with the faun Mr. Tumnus, who invites it to his house. Put Lucy to sleep by playing a lullaby on her flute. When Lucy wakes up, she finds Tumnus afflicted. He explains that Jadis, the White Witch, has cursed Narnia for a hundred years of winter. If a human is found, they must be brought to her. Tumnus does not dare to kidnap Lucy, so he sends her home. When he returns to the house of Professor Kirke, almost time has not passed and his brothers do not believe in his story.
